The Full Satisfaction of God

Sin

Romans 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

Here we see the result of the wrath of God. We see that sin prevails. The guilt of sin leaves man without hope and without help. They are without God. God will give up man to his sin. God has saved by His Son and those who would prefer to make god in their own image over accepting a completed salvation, God will give them to this form of religion. This is the religion of man. It is not natural to see a finished salvation. Look at all the religions of the world. All tell man what he must do to appropriate salvation. The truth in salvation is there is nothing you can do. God has done it all. This truth is changed into a lie everyday by man. God is not waiting on the sinner. God has already acted on behalf of all those saved by the blood of Jesus Christ. Man who believes otherwise is free to do so but will still have to stand before God on day. Even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind. That says it all. Those who deny Christ will be given over to their desires. It is what they choose after all. God is giving them what they desire. It is that which a reprobate mind and heart has chosen. Paul has introduced us to the problem of man. In the next chapter let us further explore the plight of man and why he cannot abide in the presence of God without salvation.
