Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
The law, or any other condition that we can fulfill, will not save us from the wrath of God. There is no mouth that can say I have done what you required. All are guilty before God. The law is holy and just and good and shows us that we are not. There are none righteous. There are none that are holy and just and good. There was only one who was holy and just and good. He was sent to the cross of shame. He was our righteousness. Without Him, we have no hope. We are all guilty before a God that requires perfect obedience to His laws. He will not let slide the smallest of iniquities. You are either holy and just and good or you are not. You cannot be partially holy and partially just and partially good. It is an all or nothing deal. It took perfection to please God. It took one outside of ourselves. It took another righteousness than that kind of the scribes and pharisees. It took Christ.
